  12. SUNDAY SCHOOL LESSON FOR THE WEEK:

  14. "Then, Jesus took his disciples up to the mountain and gathering them around
  15. him, taught them, saying:

  17. Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed
  18. are the meek. Blessed are they that mourn. Blessed are the merciful. Blessed
  19. are they who thirst for justice. Blessed are you who suffer. Rejoice and be
  20. glad, for your reward is great in heaven."

  22. And Simon Peter said, "Do we have to write this down?" And Andrew said, "Are we
  23. supposed to know this?" And James said, "Will this be on the test?" And Phillip
  24. said, "I don't have any paper." And Bartholomew said, "Do we have to turn this
  25. in?" And John said, "The other disciples didn't have to learn this!" And
  26. Matthew said, "Can I go to the bathroom." And Judas said, "What does all this
  27. have to do with real life?" And Thomas said, "Let us form a committee and study
  28. this for a time."

  30. And then, one of the Pharisees who was present asked to see Jesus' lesson plan
  31. and inquired of Jesus: "Where is your anticipatory set of objectives in the
  32. cognitive domain?"
  33.  
  34. And Jesus wept...

  36. And so was born Christian education, which has continued in like manner ever
  37. since!
